Union House Records/Still Blue Entertainment

Union House Records and Still Blue Entertainment announce the release of the second single from the highly acclaimed A DISTANT HORIZON project by Jeff Brown & Still Lonesome.

A DISTANT HORIZON was named Honorable Mention of the “Best of Bluegrass 2016’ as picked by Bluegrass Today’s very own John Goad.

The second single; THE SOUL OF A MOUNTAIN MAN, comes from the pen of Jeff Brown and fellow Union House Records artist Mike Bentley. The title sums up the song perfectly. It’s a bluesy number that kicks off with a banjo that draws you in immediately. One would expect nothing less from former Larry Spark’s sideman; Jeff Brown, than the bluesy, lonesome sound.  Jeff’s roots are tied to Southwest VA and his music foundation was formed on the mountain sound of his close, personal friend the late Dr. Ralph Stanley.  The song describes in clear detail the struggles, the personality, and the attitude of the people (mountain folk) whose lives are deeply intertwined with the place that they call home- the mountains.

The chorus offers us this to ponder on:
“Life aint easy on the mountain side, we work hard and have our pride.
We always help a friend in need, but you don’t want us for an enemy”

Enough said……
